A collection of bits with nowhere else to go - drawings, ramblings, photographs from the studio and beyond - the process behind the painting - the method behind the madness or sometimes just the madness

A new solo show in Dublin
After lots of hard work and hibernation I’m very happy and VERY excited to finally announce my new solo show ‘TONIGHT THERE IS NO GOD’.
I call this my schizophrenic one, it swings in emotion from serenity to defiant anger with I hope some humour thrown in, and I can’t wait to see all the work together on the walls of the fabulous ORIGIN GALLERY, Dublin come June 14th!
To be opened by MARIA DOYLE KENNEDY, Roll up, roll up, put the date in your diary, and polish your shoes, tell your sisters and brothers and mothers and fathers, your nuns and your priests -
Don’t miss this one!

The horse that found its way home
This painting 'Social Achievement' now owned by the Office of Public Works was used as a print for this fabulous dress by fashion designer Julianna Bass. It went down the runway at New York Fashion Week, and now it has now made it home and into my own wardrobe....What an extremely special gift (www.juliannabass.com)

"I confess I find such a place not lonely or depressing but inspiriting. You are thrown at the same time back upon yourself and forward against the mystery and majesty of nature and you may feel dimly something of your own littleness and your own greatness."
Robert Llyod Praeger

Cill Rialaig Project
Very glad and full of joy to be going back to this magic place for a residency in the next few days
You have to slowly let go
of all that you've clung to tightly to survive
because here you need something else to survive
you need to sit with the very stuff you're made of
rediscover solitude
and the silence
oh the silence
and the sea.

Upcoming solo show
Solo Exhibition of new works by Natasha Pike at Origin Gallery, 37 Fitzwilliam Street Upper, D2. To be opened by Peter Murray, director of Cork's Crawford Art Gallery, 20th of October from 6-8pm. Show runs until the 14th of November.
This collection of drawings and paintings are a culmination of Pike's work and time spent in Berlin. An emigrant returning home after three years, this show explores the dynamics of identity.
Moving from rural Ireland to inner city Berlin and back, these works contain a new boldness of power and freedom fed by a fierce need to understand the city, the history and the identity of it, to gauge the individuals in it as if in self reflection and questioning. While the work is executed with restraint and discipline, the show remains hopefully vibrant.
